By getting rid of batteries and using wireless power transfer, UAVs can fly semi-permanently.

This UAV has performed continuous flights up to 3 hours (which was the full time grid for the demonstration) while usual battery powered UAVs can only fly up to around 10 minutes.

This technology can reduce the cost for the frequent battery changing that stems from intense power use and limited battery weight.
